Madrona
The collections platform that fits how museums actually work.
Madrona is a multi-tenant platform for cultural institutions, spanning collections management, digital asset management, AI staff and visitor guides, public-facing CMS, exhibition management, and data integration pipelines — six modular apps that institutions adopt one at a time, with tenant isolation enforced at the database layer.
What it does.
Collections
Standards-aligned cataloguing — acquisitions, loans, exhibitions, deaccessions, condition reports, conservation treatments, valuations, insurance, location tracking, barcode inventory, shipment logistics. Plus governance: reviews, audits, documentation plans, NAGPRA compliance.
Media
Digital asset management with folder organization, AI tagging, transcription, OCR, open image and linked-data interoperability, publishing workflows, lightboxes, preservation tracking.
Guide
AI assistants for staff and visitors. Two tiers: hosted, or self-hosted models for institutions that need data to stay on premises. Schema-aware staff conversations with full collections context, anonymous rate-limited public chats, agent integration for tools like Claude Desktop and Cursor.
Bridge
Data integration pipelines for migrating from legacy systems and syncing live sources. Connectors for sheets, APIs, files, and databases, with schema evolution, change detection, entity reconciliation, and full-text indexing.
Content & Exhibits
Public-facing CMS with rich content blocks, blog posts, SEO-optimized pages, public gallery views, exhibition management, events, and venues — rendered without authentication for visitors.
Tenant isolation, role inheritance, audit trails
Database-level isolation enforces institutional data separation. Roles inherit from viewer through admin, with comprehensive audit logging across entities. Enterprise single sign-on supported.
