Ekphrasis is a privacy-first, observable knowledge platform, now in design - for organizations that can't send sensitive data to a third party. It turns internal documents, records, and institutional knowledge into a cited, org-owned answering system: everything is parsed into a canonical format with provenance attached, indexed and versioned, and served with citations forced on every answer. An evaluation heatmap shows exactly where the system is weak and what content fixes it, and every boundary crossing that carries your content lands in an auditable ledger.
What it does.
Ingestion with provenance
Parse anything - documents, records, spreadsheets, legacy exports - into a canonical content format with provenance carried in front-matter. Every indexed chunk traces back to its source, so every answer can too.
Grounded, citation-forced answers
Serving is grounded in your versioned index, and citations aren't optional: no source, no claim. Answers say where they came from or say they don't know - never a plausible-sounding guess.
Observability & the eval heatmap
Auto-generated evaluation sets score every slice of the corpus. The heatmap shows where the system is weak and diagnoses why - coverage, quality, retrieval, or simply not in the collection - and says what content fixes it.
Privacy & the egress ledger
Your content is never used to train any model, full stop. Every external call that carries your content is recorded as an append-only ledger entry the organization can audit.
MCP in both directions
The platform consumes your existing data sources as an MCP client, and exposes each collection as an MCP server - so your own agents and tools can query your knowledge with the same grounding guarantees.
Sovereignty & deployment
A control-plane/data-plane split with self-contained deployable cells and a per-collection key hierarchy. Runs in our cloud, your cloud, on-prem, or fully air-gapped - and every artifact exports in standard formats on every tier.
