Bisque
Production planning that knows the physics of clay.
Bisque is a production planner for working potters. Given a piece spec and a deadline, it generates a week-by-week production plan that respects drying time, kiln capacity, cone compatibility, and shrinkage — all derived from a custom materials engine. It also includes a glaze-recipe assistant over a curated reference corpus and live integration with kiln-controller hardware.
What it does.
Project plan generation
Orchestrates clay volume, drying time, firing slot, and inventory in a single deterministic gather, then synthesizes a timeline. The plan is reproducible, auditable, and respects every constraint the materials engine imposes.
Glaze recipe assistant
Retrieval over a curated multilingual corpus assembled from major reference works, community databases, safety documentation, and well-regarded teaching materials. Cross-lingual search built in.
Materials engine
Custom modules covering clay weight, color, cones, drying, shrinkage, glaze consumption, safety, and consumables — the physical rules of ceramics, modeled. The plan respects them; users don't have to.
Live kiln integration
Active integration with kiln-controller hardware. Schedule a firing, start it, complete it with a multi-outcome unload, and read live kiln state with snapshots captured throughout the burn.
Defect analytics & material forecasting
Track failure rates by clay body and glaze, view defect trends over time, project material consumption and kiln utilization. Piece-weighted vs. event-count toggling reveals which materials are actually costing studio time.
Safety scanning
A safety engine scans glaze formulas for silica, lead, cadmium, and food-safety concerns, flagging hazards with required disclaimers. Studios can ship with confidence; regulators see the audit trail.
